- The Power Ped EVO kit kit is an innovative way to create your own electric bike or buy a complete bike with the kit installed.
- Converting your own personal bike has some distinct advantages such as custom fitting frame and component specifications to your size and usage requirements
- Being front wheel drive and using your own pedal power at the rear wheel it effectively makes this bike ALL Wheel Drive. This creates a terrific riding experience.
- Installation is as simple as removing your front wheel and installing the new pre spoked wheel with the motor built in.
Ensure you use only steel front forks(Note: Does not include tyre and tube). Install a carry rack. Zip tie the wiring loom. Mount throttle next to current hand grip and go. - The Power Ped Evo kit uses the very latest brushless geared motor technology to develop high torque outputs while using available power as efficiently as possible. The gearing in the motor provides twice the torque output of standard non geared motors.
- This motor is simply state of the art.
- Brushless motors are significantly more reliable and efficient than brushed motors.
- The Kit is available in 24"(trikes), 26" (MTB) and 700c (Hybrid) wheel sizes. It is 98-100 mm wide on the axel which makes it compatible with most standard STEEL suspension forks.Note: You cannot have a disc brake with the set up however.
- The self install kit takes around 20 minutes to install for most people.
- We also can fit these kits to most popular TRICYCLES as well. eg Gomier 24" tricycle. Even Cruisers and Tandems. See photo's below.
- You will need to supply your own rack as bikes vary in compatability for racks. Call us for assistance if needed.
- Critical Requirements to fit kit. The wheel and motor mounts on standard axel width forks. (100 mm). The forks must be steel not alloy. Distance between fork arms from Centre of axel needs to be a minimum of 84mm for a distance of 83mm from axel centre. Total diameter of motor is 165mm. Please measure your bike first. See manual for more details.

Comments on Regenerative braking
Regenerative braking refers to the motor feeding current and volts back into the battery to recharge when heading downhill or slowing to a stop. In bicycle application we don't recommend this feature. Why? Typically bicycles have low levels of weight and inertia and do not allow a reasonable benefit for re charging. We prefer to use geared free wheeling motors with high quality NSK Japanese Barings that allow the rider to pedal with little or no resistance in the motor. This makes pedaling easy with or without the motor. We have ridden non gear motors and believe us, it a tough task to pedal an e-bike without the battery and using a non geared motor. Always choose geared BRUSHLESS motors as this will outlast and outperform any brushed alternative.

Critical Fitting Requirements
1. Read details on fork dimensions carefully. See PDF download for details.
2. Important please note: Alloy forks are NOT recommended as the drop outs can be weak and may fatigue. Change to a steel fork.
3. Washes supplied with fork need to be positioned correctly as per instructions supplied.
4. Thourghly test before riding for fork integrity.
5. The Beto Baby seat rack must be used to ensure strength
