Electrical Compliance: Power Ped Electric Bicycles have full C-tick approvals. Other inferior or unbranded ones, supply non compliant chargers.
Brakes: Power Ped Electric Bicycles such as the Raptor, have quality Taiwanese made front disc brakes and rear expansion brakes rather than cheaper band brake types. Cheaper bikes still use the old style caliper bicycle brakes. Easy Go has High Quality V-Brakes.
Brushless Motors: Most Power Ped Electric Bicycles have the latest advanced brushless motors available. Hi Torque and zero maintenance. The controllers are also high quality dedicated brushless types. Most of the cheaper models use older style brushed motors. Brushless motors are typically 20% more efficient than brushed. No servicing vs. replacing brushes in a brushed motor. Therefore long life and longer run times per charge.
Batteries: Power Ped Electric Bicycles use hi quality premium brand SLA batteries for longer life spans and better performance than the cheaper models. Before we install the batteries in our bikes, all the batteries have to be computer tested and balanced for compliance between individual cells. We also offer a variety of upgrades to bigger capacity batteries if required.
Finish: Our factories have their own modernized automatic paint booths and have very high quality control on the finish of the product. This allows us to have great selection of color and even custom colours depending on the quantities etc. Other cheaper bikes are painted in dirty polluted small spray booths, manually without strict pre-painting treatment or controls on dirt and contaminants.
Extended Back up Service and Parts: Power Ped Products are tested through real time use, not just relying on the manufactures specs. We have every panel, every component, cable, motor, and electronics available for our core product lines. The Raptor for example continues to be the biggest selling e-bike of it type in Australia, and all parts are available. We always buy a large quantity of back up spares with all our bikes. Cheaper brands offer very little or no back up parts as they order small quantities of untested products.

Ergonomics: Many e-bikes from china are large wide bodied and wide foot decked models designed for Asian consumers who are fundamentally smaller and lighter than the average western person. The flat cites of Beijing, Tianjin etc are great for these bikes and their lighter consumers. With a 200 watt power limit in Australia you do have to pedal an e-bike up hills and starting off. Period!!! With a wide foot deck it makes it near impossible to pedal when needed up a hill. A narrow foot deck is essential to make the bike function well in Australia. Avoid wide foot deck e-bikes as they are too heavy and very hard to pedal. We always work with our engineers in the factory turn up and modify our bikes to suit Australian standards.
